Rosemary, outgoing president, spoke of some of the meaningful activities we engaged in throughout the year and realized it would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of the board and the members. The theme for this coming year in Rotary is "Unite for Good," emphasizing that we must take initiative to create change rather than waiting for it to occur. It is essential that we collaborate and work together to make a meaningful impact.

 

Tom Batchelor, Incoming President is a highly capable person and will do great things in this role. He plans to grow the club and make our presence visible within the city and beyond.  We would like to congratulate Tom and offer our support as he begins a new chapter.

 

 

We had the opportunity to meet Rotarian Abiodun Owoeye from Lagos, Nigeria, who recently attended the International Conference in Calgary and found it to be a rewarding experience. He has already registered for  next year's International Conference which takes place in Taipai, Taiwan. Currently he is visiting family in Ottawa, he plans to return to Nigeria within the next couple of days. Abiodun expressed his gratitude for attending our meeting and shared his positive impressions of his time in Canada. Safe travels Abiodun!
