Weekly Meeting - March 18, 2026

Andre Boldori - Rotary Exchange Student from Brazil

Andre shared his experiences as an exchange student in Canada, highlighting how the program helped him grow personally and culturally. He discussed his first impressions of Canada, including the nature, multiculturalism, and public transport, as well as his experiences participating in activities like skiing, hiking, and joining a school choir. Andre also mentioned challenges he faced, such as making friends in a new environment and adjusting to different host families, but emphasized the importance of adaptation and growth through the experience. He concluded by reflecting on the benefits of the exchange, including improved communication skills and a broader perspective on the world. Well done, Andre! You have a bright future ahead.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Rotary Ottawa South will once again host its annual Charity Golf Day—a fantastic mix of friendly competition, great food, fun, and community spirit.

Supporting Rotel

This year, proceeds from the tournament will support Rotel, a charitable organization providing comfortable, affordable accommodation for patients, families, and medical visitors who need to stay near The Ottawa Hospital and CHEO.

Located close to The Ottawa Hospital General Campus, Rotel offers clean, private rooms in a safe and supportive environment—helping reduce stress during what is often one of the most difficult times in a person’s life.

For over 35 years, Rotel has supported individuals from across Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and across Canada. By participating in this tournament, you are helping ensure that no patient or family has to choose between being close to critical medical care and being able to afford a place to stay. Your support directly helps keep Rotel accessible to those who need it most.

The Tournament

Just like in past years, the tournament will be an 18-hole scramble with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start at The Meadows Golf and Country Club.

Your registration includes:

  • BBQ lunch & seated dinner

  • Signature themed holes – Margarita Hole, Poutine Hole, Spicy Caesar Hole, Mac’n’Cheese Hole

  • Contests & prizes – Putting, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Beat the Pro, Hole-in-One
