On Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 Councillor Steve Desroches hosted an Open House at the Fred Barrette Arena. Rotary Ottawa South and other community and public services were in attendance. Much information was shared and new connections were made. A great evening on all fronts. Representing Rotary were AG Joan Hunter, Honorary Member Gary Pluim, President Kateri Clark, Lisa Barleben, Stephen Campbell and Rosemary Parker.

October 25th, 2023 Weekly Meeting - World Polio Day 2023
President Kateri shared some information on World Polio Day 2023 which was Tuesday, October 24th. She tested our knowledge on polio stats and showed us an uplifting video on Paul Alexander, a polio survivor. Paul Alexander’s story is really an inspiring one. No matter the challenges you are facing, you can truly do anything if only you set your mind towards it and work hard. Never give up on your dreams! Your past, disability or challenges should never prevent you from attaining success or fulfilling your dreams. Paul is still very much alive today though he still lives in the iron lung.
