Planning for Retirement - Avoid these Blunders
Presented by Jeff Sirrs, Freedom 55 Financial Security Advisor
Jeff is a professional financial consultant with many years of experience. He shared some of his expertise to help us avoid some mistakes when planning for retirement.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket. It is very important to have a diversified portfolio.
Don't be overly conservative. You need growth in your investments and requires some strategic risk.
Don't fall for schemes. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Don't overpay for service. Be aware of fees.
Don't ignore the effect of inflation.
Don't rely on common knowledge. Do your research and get informed.
Don't retire too early.
Don't withdraw retirement funds too quickly.
Don't limit your investments to Canada. There are many good international investments to help diversify your portfolio.
Don't penalize yourself with poorly-timed retirement withdrawals. Consider tax implications.
Do consider the advice of a professional. You can get more information from Jeff's website, click below.
