Announcements
  • Ian reminded us that:
    • This Saturday is our Christmas family brunch (See Story below.)
    • Wednesday, December 13 is our Annual General Meeting
    • Friday, February 23 is the annual Trivia Night hosted by Stittsville club. We need (intelligent) volunteers (might have to go outside the club)
  • Jonny updated us on Community projects:
    • Christmas hampers benefitted from a large budget this year ($4,500). Jonny has created a Christmas card From RCOS that will be included in the baskets.
    • Dictionaries will be distributed next week at Charles Hulse PS. Several members expressed interest in helping out.
  • Carlo thanked all who attended last weeks social dinner (A is for Afghan). About 17 members and friends showed up for a delicious meal and great company.
  • Scott thanks all those who helped ut with the Christmas Kettle this year (see Story below.)
  • Peter turned 40 last Sunday! Now, perhaps, he’ll start acting his age.
  • Check our website homepage for upcoming meetings and events.

Happy Bucks
Joan commandeered the Happy Bucks basket and collected loonies in exchange for our stories that brought happiness and welcomed gratitude.

50/50
Mack was the master of 50/50 ceremonies as Joan’s ticket was drawn. However the Queen of Hearts drew a Queen of Hearts, letting the Joker languish. Unconfirmed repots have the pot at close to $550.

No presentation today. We were going to talk about our projects and volunteering, but the restaurant was rather rowdy with Christmas celebrations, and we weren’t in our private room, so we simply chatted among ourselves.

Guest Lucy Joan promoted the New York-based Shen Yun performing arts show.

President Joan ended the meeting promptly at 1:30pm.
