On Saturday morning, October 14, 2023, four Rotary Ottawa South members (and their families) joined several people from Findlay Creek pitched in and picked up trash in the parks of the Findlay Creek neighborhood of south Ottawa.
Committed to supporting community-based activities that foster harmony between our community and the environment, we can now say that corner of our community and the world is indeed a better place.
Thanks to Lisa Barleben, and her son Dante, Jeff Sirrs, Jonny Kung, and his spouse Celine and daughter Jordan, and Kateri Clark. With many hands to help, it only took a couple hours to pick up and bag the trash. The Findlay Creek Community Association provided bags, disposable gloves, treats, coffee, and yummy hot chocolate. We also had the opportunity to connect with Steve Desroches, City Councillor for Riverside South-Findlay Creek.
All-in-all we were happy to spread the word about Rotary Ottawa South and take steps to protect the environment.
