Announcements

  • District Conference 2022 is May 6-7, early bird registration expires at end of this month. Mark your calendar and register today for DisCon22 on the District website.
  • District Conference Opportunity: Do you know a company that might like to advertise or sponsor an event at District Conference? Let Scott know.
  • Last call for RCOS business cards. If you haven't already, please advise Scott whether you want cards.
  • The Happy Bucks fund jumped considerably as members made up for not contributing during COVID. Lots of happiness, lots of loonies.
  • With no scheduled speaker today, we discussed club issues including how we've changed the start of each meeting; more discussion will ensue. You can look forward to belting out the national anthem again, once COVID allows.
  • Alex Davidson soliloquized an apt description of what Rotary does. It was a delightfully poetic ode to how Rotary brings people together... all people. In a time when some politics and beliefs are having a polarizing effect, the strength of Rotary is critical. Rotary brings us together for community service, socializing and social benefit, and challenges us to do better (4-way test). Rotary is a refuge: we are accepted and we accept others, we are trusted and we trust others, we are valued and we value others.
Kateri Clark Receives 2nd Paul Harris Fellow Award
President Dave Gough presented Kateri Clark with her second Paul Harris Fellow. Member, and friend, Julie Cugalj gave a warm introduction that highlighted Kateri's commitment to Rotary and her enthusiastic energy.

The Paul Harris Fellow award originated in 1957 to recognize significant contributions to the Rotary Foundation. It is also awarded by Clubs to recognize longstanding and exceptional commitment to Rotary and community service.

Laundry Strips - Part 2

Julie Cugalj brought us laundry strips to try at home.

If everyone switched to Eco-Strips we could eliminate 1 billion plastic jugs, and save truck fuel and CO2 equivalent to taking 27 million cars off the road a day... or planting 9 million new trees.
