Happy Bucks
President Joan Hunter rode the happy train and stopped to collect our loonies and happy thoughts.

50/50
Jonny Kung parked his bike long enough to look after our 50/50 draw. Peter White had the lucky ticket but drew the 7 of Hearts. Which he gave to his wife, member Melissa, as a memento of the lunch. (One wonders, would he have done the same had he won?)

Guest Speaker: District Governor Martha Weaver
Rotary Be the Inspiration icon
Rotary's theme this year is "Be the Inspiration" and Martha showed that inspiration as she spoke abut the Polio campaign and encouraged us to be adventurous in how we "do" Rotary. Rather than focus on "how do we get more members," try sharing what you do more openly with others. She mentioned the use of videos, which we can post on the District YouTube channel. The District PR chair (Chris Cochrane) can even help us with editing our videos.

Club Citations have been improved with goals that mesh with typical goals for a club. She urged us to work towards earning a citation this year.

Martha spoke about the District Conference in Kingston, October 26 - 28. The focus will be on networking and looking for new ways to do Rotary. She encouraged us to register asap and bring our ideas, entusiasm and inspiration.

One of Martha's goals is to grow Rotaract and its integration to Rotary clubs, so our club is already on her good books!
