Helping Refugees Comfortably Settle in Ottawa
Suzi Shore SauvĂ©, founder of House to Home Ottawa gave us a virtual tour of their warehouse. It is crammed, although in a very organized manner, with furniture, bedding, kitchen items, small appliances... absolutely everything a refugee family would need to furnish their new home.

What started as one Mitzvah, good deed to honour her father's life, quickly became an interfaith humanitarian project. It grew from Suzi's overflowing garage to adding many more garages, to support from Access Storage and then a donated 10,400 square foot warehouse space Brigil Construction.

The warehouse space was the Country Grocery on Ridgewood Avenue. Suzi and her team take full advantage of all the shelving to organize items by category. They use the check-out conveyors to assemble outgoing orders.
Check out their website to see how you can help (make a cash or furniture donation, use their moving services, volunteer your time) and learn more about House to Home Ottawa.

Suzi and her team have furnished over 250 homes this year! Over 30 volunteers help with the process of picking up, sorting, organizing, delivering and assisting new refugee families feel at home in Ottawa.

House to Home is fundraising for a moving van and to help pay for movers. They also need to buy items that are not donated, ensuring that each family has everything they need for a new beginning here in Canada.
