Announcements
  • President Alex announced that the Club was treating all to a beverage with their lunch for Christmas.
  • Joan and Alex reported that RCOS is looking into participating with the Ottawa Skateboard Association in a youth at risk program; more details to come.
  • Eva reported that she presented an award at a recent Rotaract Club of Ottawa meeting. This is the ninth year she has done so, in memory of her husband who was instrumental in the formation and nurturing of the Rotaract club.
  • Dates worth noting:
    - Club General Assembly: Wednesday January 15; 6 - 9 pm (no lunch meeting)
    - Club (and Friends of the Club) New Year Party: Friday February 7; 7 - 10 pm (no lunch meeting on 5th)
  • Next meeting is Wednesday January 8, 2020.
 
Happy Bucks

Joan charmed us of at least a dollar each as we recounted our stories of thankfulness and happiness.

 

50/50

Not dealing with a full deck, we are at least halfway through the deck, Scott handled the 50/50 draw. Peter had the winning ticket and drew an impressive Ace of Hearts, but the Joker stood him up. The pot is estimated at around or very close to $220.

 

RCOS AGM

Today was the Annual General Meeting for Rotary Club of Ottawa South. Alex Davidson as President, and Sam Monsour, as Treasurer and President-Elect, chaired the meeting.

Financial statements for the club as well as our service fund charitable organization were reviewed. Discussion was had regarding sources of funds, beneficiaries, club committees and membership. This discussion and planning will be continued at our General Assembly in January.

President Alex wished everyone a merry holiday and ended the meeting promptly at 1:30pm.
