Announcements.
Rosemary reported that the Salvation Army/RCOS will be distributing Xmas hampers to 115 families on Friday Dec. 18. Salvation Army, Booth Centre had been given 150 bicycles and 15 of those have been designated for Walkley Road Salvation Army. Jonny has designed and produced greeting cards from RCOS to be given with the hampers.
Jonny not at the meeting today as he has gone to Halifax for his grandmother's funeral.
Reminder that there will NOT be meetings on Wednesday Dec. 23rd or 30th.
The first 2 meetings in January will Strategic Planning sessions.
50/50 Draw
Sam conducted the draw and Hector had the winning ticket but drew the 6 of Spades.
Happy Bucks
Dave asked for Happy Bucks.
Ian apologized for forgetting to report in last week's RoTell that the club passed a motion to donate up to $7500 from unbudgeted funds for the local Syrian Refugee Project.
Programme
Dawn presented Laird with a cheque for $1000 which had been sent to us by the Rotary Club of Fennelon Falls, to be donated to Rotel.
Laird Rasmussen conducted the AGM of the South Ottawa Services Foundation Inc, which is the Foundation of Rotel. All members of RCOS are members of the Foundation and Laird is the President. Suzy Harrison, Rotel manager, acted as recording secretary.
Ian then chaired the Annual Meeting of RCOS. Patrick presented the financial statements for the RCOS 2014-2015 year and explained that the Auditor had completed the review but it had not been signed off by her supervisor. He responded to all questions. Ian then presented the nominees for open positions on the Board for 2016-17. All nominees were elected unopposed. The Board members will be:-
President - Peter White
President Elect (President Nominee until July 1, 2016) - Alex Davidson
Past President - Dawn Cooper
Secretary - Joan Hunter
Treasurer - Patrick Slinn (2nd year of 2-year term)
