RCOS at ORCF Survivors ParkRotary Club of Ottawa South held its lunch meeting Wednesday May 2 at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation's Cancer Survivorship Centre. The building, which looks like a large house, is located on Alta Vista Drive, beside the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Survivors Park.

We were welcomed by John Ouellette, Executive Vice-President, Philanthropy, who gave us a tour of the impressive facility. It is very bright and homey, and offers many programs to help those with cancer, their families and their friends cope in as healthy and supportive manner as possible. Everyhting from counselling to nutrition classes and yoga.

Jennifer Turner, Cancer Coach, gave a presentation on the typical services provided at the Cancer Survivorship Care - Maplesoft Centre. She emphasized that services are available to all affected by cancer (including friend, family member, co-worker, etc.) and that no doctor's referral is required.

RCOS was honoured to have one of the large tulip sculptures in the Cancer Survivors Park named on behalf of the Rotary Club of Ottawa South. RCOS has long been interested in the work that ORCF does and the leadership role they play in cancer treatment and survivorship living.
