On March 20, 2013, Rotary representatives attended the soft opening of Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health and announced the launch of Rotarians for Wabano campaign.

Wabano_allison_carrie_scottThe Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health held a community open house last Wednesday evening. It was a cultural celebration with dancers, singers and drummers capped with poignant speeches. Rotary was invited to participate and officially launched the Rotarians for Wabano campaign.

The $1.5 million campaign will complete Wabano’s $15 million capital campaign for its beautiful new building at 299 Montreal Road. This larger and custom-designed facility allows Wabano to serve many more people and expand its programs. Already, over 10,000 people per year use its health facility and many more participate in after school programs, training, counselling, cultural and social events.
