Announcements
  • Scott: Changeover Night. We are preparing a slideshow for the evening. Please send photos that you have of meetings and events over the past year to Scott.
  • Scott: Everyone wants to be a scribe, yes, even you. Let me know if you can jot down Announcements and brief notes on our lunch meetings. Then email them to me. We also need someone to take a couple photos and email them to me as well. I’ll compile and send out the ROTELL eBulletin. We’d like to have 8 scribes to make it an easy task.
  • Bernie: The Golf Tournament, June 6, is coming quickly. Let John know if you can volunteer. Let Jacques know of any Tee Sign sales. Let Bernie know of any auction items.
  • Dawn: Nabil Oudeh (DG Elect) has invited everyone to his changeover night at St. Elias on Wednesday June 22. Cost is $30.
  • Rosemary: The Salvation Army has been in Fort MacMurray since 1979. They are providing over 2,000 meals per day to first responders, as well as first aid and personal and spiritual counselling. Salvation Army Thrift stores are giving clothing kits to those displaced by the fires. They are looking for donations to buy bedding. Personal donations can be given to Salvation Army and get receipts.
  • The Board will look at how to best donate approx $1200 already ear-marked for disaster relief. Options include Salvation Army, Red Cross (gov’t matched), local Rotary Club.
  • Next Meeting: May 25 at the Hunt. Lise Turpin will be our guest speaker.
  • Check our website homepage for upcoming meetings and events.

Happy Bucks
Peter White skipped about the room with the magical basket of happiness (what was in the beef?).

50/50
Ori Rooke handled the cards like a shark, Jacques was bitten, but drew the Ace of Diamonds, and the pot swam away.

PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH ROTARY CLUB OF DOMINICA (ROSEAU)

Gary Pluim and Allan Cayer, along with their supportive and capable spouses Gezina and Karen, visited the island of Dominica to see how some of our projects are developing. They worked hard, enjoyed themselves immensely and met many wonderful people.

Gary and Allan gave an interesting and fun presentation of their trip, view the PDF slide show.
