- District Conference: Oct 28 - 29 It's in Ottawa this year so buy your tickets and enjoy a district conference at a great price. Joan mentioned that tickets for teh gala dinner were going fast, so register now and avoid the crushing disappontment of missing out.
- Polo in the Park Ottawa: A big thank you from Monique:
- The day was wonderful with good attendance and much fun had by all.
- Details will be available and presented when Monique is back in town in October.
- The committee is holding a post-mortem tonight at Mack MacGregor's house.
- Backpacks: Rosemary Parker reported that 140 backpacks had been put together and she was busy presenting them to local families with students. She thanked Jeff Sirs and Ori Rooke for their help.

Sam Monsour showed great verve and vigour as he presided over our stories of happiness and gratitude.

Joan Hunter gave our 50/50 draw a shot, and Jeff Sirs had the winning ticket, but no luck chossing the Joker from the new deck, which was clearly stacked against him.

Jeff gave an Industry Update on the insurance industry and new changes that may affect us. Changes are coming in January 2017. New mortality tables will be used that will affect the value inside your life insurance policy. Exisitng policies are grandfathered, but this change will affect all policies started in 2017, so if you're thinking of anew life insurance policy, get busy.
Also, a change in annuities will increase taxes significantly, so be aware. Call Jeff more info.
President Peter ended the meeting promptly at 1:30pm, 'cause that's just the kind of guy he is.
